My name is Thaddeus Theodore Wallace, Sr., and I am the fourth of nine children born to my parents Margaret Harper Wallace and James Glenn Wallace. I also attended Judson S. Hill School; however, I briefly moved to New York as a child but returned to attend Morristown College High School and Morristown West High where I was a member of the Green Dragons Football Team. I was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Gordon, GA. I spent part of my time in the military in Germany where I served in infantry, and I was honorably discharged in 1964. On March 12, 1965, I married Dorothy Jean Goins "Dot" of Thornhill, TN. That November, God blessed us with a daughter, Patreva Michelle Wallace "Missi". In July 1968, we were blessed with a baby boy, Thaddeus Theodore Wallace, Jr. Two years later in November 1970, we welcomed a second son, Eric Anthony Wallace "Tony".
During my working career, I attended Tennessee School of Technology and graduated as an electrician's apprentice. I was employed by TVA as an electrician's apprentice and worked at several sites including Watts Bar and Phipps Bend. I took early retirement from TVA in 1984 and went to work in maintenance for the Morristown Housing Authority where I retired in 2001. My wife, Dot, worked at Magnavox until 1977 and then went to work at Mahle as an auditor in product audit until she retired in 2012.
All of our children attended and are alumni of Morristown Hamblen High School West. Our daughter attended Walters State Community College and East Tennessee State University where she graduated in 1992 with a degree in dental hygiene. She also graduated from Tennessee Real Estate Educational Systems in 2006. She met Loren James Riddick, of Alcoa, while attending Walters State, and they were married on May 7, 1994. They live in Alcoa where Missi works part-time as a dental hygienist and also as an affiliate broker in real estate, and Loren works in the banking industry, specializing in reverse and forward mortgage lending. Their union blessed us with two grandchildren, Tucker Loren, born in August 1996 and Lucy Harper, born in April 2007. Our son, Jr. also attended Walters State and Tennessee School of Barbering. He graduated in 1994 as a master barber and owns Buffalo Trail Barber Shop in Morristown. He has five children and blessed us with five grandchildren, Alexis Jade born in March 1996, Harry Lee born in June 2004, Thaddeus Theodore III, born in September 2005, Thorne Tylee born in January 2007, and Kennedee Jilianne, born February 2007. Tony attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in 1994. He furthered his education at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he received his Master's Degree in education in 2001. He met Angela Jefferson of Memphis while at UTK. They were married on August 12, 2000. They make their home in the Raleigh, North Carolina area where they are both educators in the public school system. Their union blessed us with two more grandchildren, Landon Anthony Krish, born November 2007 and Avery Nicole Denea, born in July 2014.
In our retirement, Dot and I enjoy spending time with our children and grandchildren and walking the track, most mornings, at Manley Baptist Church. The Lord has blessed us over and over again, and we are truly thankful that He has allowed us to raise our family and enjoy our grandchildren.
